Term 4 Week 1 2025
Welcome to TERM 4
Kia ora whānau,
It’s been wonderful welcoming our tamariki back for Term 4 — the classrooms and playgrounds have been full of a settled, positive buzz as everyone reconnects and gets back into learning.
We have an exciting term ahead, filled with rich learning experiences and special events. Our school-wide inquiry, Funky Junk Wearable Arts, will see creativity and sustainability come together as students design and showcase imaginative creations. Garden to Table continues to flourish, with tamariki learning valuable skills in growing, harvesting, cooking and sharing kai.
We’re also looking forward to participating in the Puanga Kapa Haka Festival, building bike and scooter skills, and welcoming Harold and the Life Education team for another engaging visit focused on health and well-being.
As the weather warms up, a friendly reminder that all children must wear a wide-brimmed sunhat when outside this term.
Thank you, as always, for your ongoing support and partnership in our kura. It’s through this strong connection between home and school that our tamariki continue to thrive.
Ngā mihi nui,

To all these Welbourn runners, well done and all the training and success in this event!
In addition, we also had a winning combination with our 10-year-old girls. They came out on top for the 10-year-old girls' team award. Congratulations!
Class considerations 2026
In the coming weeks we will begin planning classes for 2026. In making up classes a large number of variables are considered, including the students’ age, achievement and interests. We also consider the ethnic and gender make up of the classes and the social and academic needs of students in each class. If there is anything you would like us to consider when placing your child, please make an appointment to meet me before November 7th. This can be done by contacting the office. Please note that these meetings are not an opportunity to request a particular teacher.
Ngā mihi
Bonnie Mills

NZEI - Strike Day
You may be aware of the proposed nationwide strike planned for Thursday, 23 October 2025. This action involves teachers, principals, support staff, and Ministry of Education specialists, along with many others across the health and public sectors.
We understand this may cause inconvenience for our whānau and appreciate your continued support and understanding. Please stand with us as we advocate for the best possible future for our tamariki. We want to continue attracting and keeping amazing educators so every child can thrive.
At this stage, we don’t believe we’ll have enough staff on site to safely supervise learners if school were to remain open that day. Please plan for your child to stay home on Thursday, 23 October.
Ngā mihinui - thank you for your support!
