Vandalism in Room 12

Smash! Bang! Boosh! On Saturday morning a tragedy. Israel discovered three windows  smashed in Room 12. He ran urgently down to find Mrs Crofskey who was supporting our soccer team. She taped them up until a later time...

Monday morning came, and Room 12 were shocked. There was a note on the door saying they could not go inside and that they had to go to different classes. Mrs Rudman, Mrs Crofskey and Mr Miscall spent the morning before the bell, clearing the main shards of glass using a vacuum and brush and shovel. Once the bell rang for the beginning of the day, Room 12 came in a few at a time to clean their desks. They were amazed to find glass EVERYWHERE! On desks, under cabinets, in between computer cords, in bookshelves, in desks, on seats, in and around the window, underneath the whiteboard (on the other side of the room), in the cloakbay, on Mrs R's desk, outside in the grass and on the concrete and all across the floor. They spent the entire morning block cleaning our class.

We (Room 12) feel...

  • disappointed (that someone did this to our class)
  • horrified (that they would do something like this)
  • petrified (that they may come again)
  • upset (because they may have been having fun but it led to disappointment for us)
  • amazed (to find glass everywhere, even the opposite side of the room)
  • mad (that the school has to pay a lot of money, when instead we could be buying sports gear)
  • sad (for Mrs Rudman and Mrs Crofskey because they were stressed about not letting the kids get hurt)
  • annoyed (that someone would be so irresponsible about thinking of others)
  • glad (that Israel found it when he did)

Please report any suspicious people or if you are walking around our school and see something out of the norm, let the police know. WE DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN AGAIN!

Tui Team's trip to the Rocky Shore

We had a fantastic trip to Bell Block Beach on Monday the 5 March.  The children from Rooms One, Two and Three were delighted at discovering starfish, crabs, sea anemones, sea weed and shellfish and the  most unusual find of the day was the squid eggs, which had been washed up from the recent storm.  In groups we explored, identified and classified the animals and plants observed in the rock pools.  This experience has enriched the childrens science knowedge and vocabulary.
