FSF Club reborn

FSF Club is reborn for 2012!

Due to popular demand, we are continuing last year’s Fantasy and Science Fiction Club on Tuesday lunchtimes in Room 13 led by Mr Henson. The FSF Club is dedicated to all things fantastical for children. Members are encouraged to draw, write, or create original artworks, stories, and poems. A selection of these will appear in a mini-magazine that will be distributed around classes and published on the school's website..

The guiding principles of the FSF Club are:

  • Encouraging original creative works with a fantasy or science fiction theme
  • G or PG content
  • Valuing children’s creative work that would not necessarily fit into class topics
  • support children with an interest in fantasy and science fiction

RWC Day

To celebrate the range of cultures taking part in the Rugby World Cup Welbourn School had a RWC Day. Classes were split so each class had children from Y1 to Y6 in them. Each class researched a different country taking part in the RWC. Flag designing, making up chants, face painting and trying different food from their country were a few examples of what classes did. We finished the day with a parade to share the way children had dressed up and then an afternoon of fun rugby related games and relays.

Photos of this event can be viewed in our GALLERY
